Can plant or plant design registration be cancelled?

 Yes. 

WorkCover can take steps to cancel registration in certain circumstances. 

 Automatic cancellation of plant registration occurs if:

  • the plant is altered or
  • in the case of plant that is normally fixed in position, it is relocated and WorkCover is not notified within 14 days;
  • there is a change of the person in control of the plant (including a change of owner of lessee) and WorkCover is not notified within fourteen (14) days;
  • there is a breach of any condition of registration (see Clause 117 of OHS Regulation 2001)


Cancellation of design registration can also occur in certain circumstances (see Clause 110 of the OHS Regulation 2001). 

WorkCover can cancel the registration of an item of plant in certain circumstances (see Clause 116 of the OHS Regulation 2001)
