Notification Qu22
22. When an interstate business is carrying out work in NSW and an incident occurs, where should it be reported?

When an interstate business employs workers in NSW, it must insure their workers with a licensed NSW insurer. As such, a workplace injury to a worker must be notified to the insurer within 48 hours.

If there is a serious incident to a worker then WorkCover must also be notified immediately by phone on 13 10 50 as specified under section 86 of the OHS Act 2000 and clause 344 of the OHS Regulation 2001.

Requirements for notification of other incidents to WorkCover apply to all places of work within NSW, other than mines.
