Workers Compensation Insurance Q12.
For how long is a workers compensation insurance policy issued?

Section 155A of the Workers Compensation Act 1987 provides that an insurance policy issued or renewed after 1 August 1998 must be issued for a period of 12 months, unless WorkCover otherwise approves in a particular case or class of cases.

WorkCover now gives approval to insurers to issue or renew policies for periods of less than 12 months, subject to certain conditions.

Please refer to Q&A below: In what cases will WorkCover approve a period other than 12 months for Workers Compensation Insurance policies?
