WorkCover NSW Research Centre of Excellence (WRCE)
WorkCover NSW and the University of Newcastle have established the WorkCover NSW Research Centre of Excellence (WRCE) at the University’s Ourimbah campus on the Central Coast of NSW. The WRCE was launched on 3 September 2004 by the NSW Minister for Commerce (and Minister for the Central Coast), the Hon John Della Bosca MLC.

The WRCE will work in conjunction with WorkCover to provide excellence in research and research training for the prevention of workplace injury and disease.

WorkCover has helped to establish the Centre as part of its mandate under NSW legislation. Specifically, to fund measures that prevent or minimise workplace injury and disease, and to ensure the availability of high quality education and training in injury prevention, management and rehabilitation. The Centre has been established with funding of approximately $1.5 million over five years.
