Safe Work Australia Week
21 - 27 October 2007
Safe Work Australia Week is a national week developed to focus attention on workplace safety issues around Australia. It aims to encourage all working Australians particularly employers to get involved and concentrate on safety in their workplace to reduce death, injury and disease.
In NSW the week runs from October 21-27 and there are two ways you can participate.
Do You Work Near Overhead Powerlines or Underground Services?
The Construction and Utilities Industry Reference Groups (IRGs) in conjunction with WorkCover NSW and Civil Contractors Federation (CCF), are holding breakfast seminars to introduce the Overhead Power Lines Code of Practice (2006) and the Work Near Underground Assets Guide (2007).

Safe business is good business
A dedicated Business Assistance Unit has been established within WorkCover NSW to specifically provide small and medium business with free, accurate and practical advice and assistance in relation to workplace health and safety, workers compensation and effective return to work strategies for injured workers.
The Business Assistance Unit provides a number of free services including workplace advisory visits, workshops and seminars offering practical advice and assistance, tailored to meet your specific business needs.

Safety Solutions Rebate Program
The Managing for Safety Workshops are a free interactive workshop to suit all small business employers. They will help employers to develop the skills to work with employees to identify and address safety issues. They will also assist in the development of basic safety management systems, tools and action plans, and provide opportunities to network with small business peers. The workshops will provide employers with the opportunity to qualify for the Safety Solutions Rebate Program.

Central West Health and Safety Management Group
The Central West Health and Safety Management Group was first established in September 1995 through the enterprising efforts of local business owners and managers, with the support of WorkCover.
The Central West Health & Safety Management Group has a mission “to continually upgrade our knowledge and skills, and so enhance Occupational Health and Safety management in the Central West of NSW”. The group is recognised as the largest networking group in the Central West, with a mailing list of over 250 people.

New South Wales Workplace Safety Summit 2005
The New South Wales Workplace Safety Summit 2005 was held 25-26 August, 2005 at the Orange Ex-Services Club, Orange.
The New South Wales Workplace Safety Summit was a NSW Government event organised by WorkCover NSW. The summit included a combination of plenary sessions and several concurrently operating industry specific workshops.
