Compliance and Enforcement Strategy - Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Chrysotile Asbestos) Regulation 2003
In September 2001 the Workplace Relations Ministers’ Council (WRMC) endorsed the prohibition of the use, supply and handling of chrysotile asbestos in workplaces in Australia by no later than 31 December 2003. The intention is to implement a comprehensive national ban on the use of all forms of asbestos in Australia.
