Safe Work Australia Week
25-31 October 2009

Safe Work is about preventing workplace incidents and managing injuries

During October, WorkCover NSW encourages New South Wales workplaces, occupational health and safety organisations, practitioners and rehabilitation providers to have an extra focus on safety and health and injury management.

Workplaces right across Australia will be organising activities and joining the Australia wide quest for safer workplaces.

There are 3 ways you can GET INVOLVED

1. Run an event or activity in your workplace

WorkCover NSW has compiled a list of possible activities that you could run in your workplace. Pick a single activity or a few that you think are appropriate to your workplace.

Download the 9 steps brochure for tips on running your workplace activity.

Download your FREE Safety Education Pack  from SafeWork Australia. The pack includes:

  • 1 poster - to promote activities in your workplace
  • 1 occupational health and safety statistics fact sheet
  • 1 activity ideas fact sheet
  • 1 What’s on fact sheet - to find out what’s happening in your state or territory
  • 1 Model OHS Legislation fact sheet
  • 1 colouring-in poster

Register your event with WorkCover, telling us what the event is, what is the focus, how many people are involved, where it is being held and what outcomes you hope to achieve. Please send us any photos or stories about your activity.

Don’t forget to provide your contact details so we can showcase your event in future promotions of SafeWork in NSW worklplaces.

2. GET INVOLVED in WorkCover NSW activities

Find your nearest Small Business Safety Workshop.

WorkCover NSW understands you want your small business to be the best it can be. In October we are running FREE safety workshops across the state designed to help you. In just a couple of hours, your local business advisory officer will provide practical assistance and advice to improve your workplace safety and injury management.

3. Attend the Safety Show and Conference
