Vocational Rehabilitation Programs 
WorkCover funds a number of programs to help seriously injured workers who need additional assistance with return to work. These include:
  • Work Trials, which are short periods of work experience with a host employer (ie. not the worker’s employer at the time of injury), to help the injured worker develop work skills, or upgrade their physical fitness in a suitable work environment
  • assistance with formal retraining, which may be approved when an injured worker cannot return to their previous job and do not have other marketable skills to find suitable employment.
  • funds for workplace equipment or modifications to assist an injured worker to resume employment.
  • JobCover Placement Program, which provides a financial incentive for a different employer to employ a workers who has a work-related injury.
