How do I keep my workmates safe?
Follow safe work procedures and report hazards and incidents to supervisors or managers. Section 21 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 states that you must not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare. Therefore, in the interests of your workmates’ safety, you should not:
  • move or deface signs
  • tamper with warning alarms
  • remove machine guards
  • skylark
  • play jokes
  • behave in a way that results in risk to others.
