How do I keep my workplace safe?
Section 20 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 states that you must take reasonable care for the health and safety of your co-workers who may be affected by your actions.

You must:

  • work safely
  • use and maintain machinery and equipment properly
  • ensure that your work area is free of hazards.

Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 also requires that you report any matter that may affect your employer’s ability to comply with the requirements of the Act and Regulation.
