WorkCover Internet > About us > Harmonisation

WorkCover is working with other states and territories to develop a consistent approach to occupational health and safety (OHS) and workers compensation.

This harmonisation is reducing costs and cutting red tape which makes it easier for you to operate across more than one jurisdiction.

Some of our harmonisation work to date includes:

  • mutual recognition of construction induction cards
  • mutual recognition of plant design registrations
  • common guidance material
  • shared promotional campaigns.

For more information on harmonisation call 13 10 50.

National OHS Model

The Federal Government is working with Safe Work Australia (formerly National Occupational Health and Safety Commission) to develop OHS laws that are consistent between states and territories.

We continue to contribute to developments at the national level, to ensure that our high standards of workplace safety and injury management are maintained.
