The Health and Community Services (HACS) Industry Reference Group (IRG) was established in partnership with WorkCover to assist industry to improve their occupational health and safety (OHS), injury management and workers compensation performance.
The current report supports The NSW Workplace Health and Safety Strategy 2005-08 (developed at the WorkCover NSW 2005 Safety Summit). Within this strategy, violence is identified as a priority issue in the Health and Community Services (HACS) industry, with an identified action step to ‘identify and research key areas/issues’ in order to inform the development of strategies to reduce the incidence of violence in this sector.
