Certificates
A construction induction card is required for people carrying out construction work such as building, renovation, demolition, excavation and civil engineering.
Certificates of competency
NSW OHS certificates of competency are issued to individuals for:
A loadshifting certificate of competency for front-end loader, backhoe, skid steer and excavator will not be required from 30 September 2011. The fact sheet on Loadshifting machines provides detailed information on these changes including ensuring operator competency and the amount of information, instruction, training and supervision required.
High risk work licences have replaced national certificates of competency for forklifts, cranes, hoists, pressure equipment and dogging, rigging and scaffolding. Current national certificates of competency will continue to be recognised in all Australian states and territories for five years from the date of issue.
Certificates of competency for formwork (FF) and the operation and use of explosive-powered tools are no longer required.
