Small Business Mentee Information
Do you own a small business? Are you interested in improving your workplace health and safety? Then you should express an interest in our mentor program. You will gain FREE one-on-one advice and practical assistance on OHS, workers compensation and injury management and learn from the experience of another business.

What are the benefits?
Your small business has the potential to:
- improve your workplace safety
- comply with legislation
- build relationships and networks
- raise your business profile in industry and the community.
What does the program involve?
The program runs over eight months. It involves discussions and onsite visits with your mentor business. Workshops and information days are hosted by WorkCover on safety topics relevant to your industry, including:
- OHS, workers compensation and injury management
- developing safe work method statements
- rebates available to small businesses
- manual handling
- electrical safety
- developing practical action plans to tackle issues in your business.
Who can participate?
To participate you must be:
- operating in NSW
- a sole trader or small business with up to 20 employees
- available to attend at least eight face-to-face sessions during the program
- willing to have a large business mentor visit your workplace at least twice during the program
- genuinely interested in improving your workplace safety, workers compensation and injury management systems.
